The Business

We are partnering with a well-established and rapidly growing FMCG manufacturing business supplying into both Retail and Foodservice channels across the UK.

Following continued investment, sustained growth and ambitious future plans, the business is now looking to appoint a commercially driven Head of Sales / Sales Manager to lead the commercial function and support the next stage of expansion.

This is a highly visible leadership role within a business that combines entrepreneurial pace with strong operational capability and a genuine appetite for growth.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly into the Managing Director, this role will take ownership of the commercial strategy across the business, leading both existing customer development and new business growth.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving performance across Retail and Foodservice channels, strengthening customer relationships, developing the sales team and helping the business continue to scale profitably.

This role requires someone capable of operating strategically whilst still remaining close to customers, commercial negotiations and day-to-day execution.

The environment is fast paced, evolving and highly collaborative, with significant opportunity to influence both short and long-term direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Sales function across the business

  • Develop and execute commercial strategies aligned to business growth objectives

  • Build and strengthen relationships with key Retail and Foodservice customers

  • Identify and convert new business opportunities across customers, channels and product ranges

  • Drive revenue growth, margin performance and overall commercial profitability

  • Lead, coach and develop the sales team to create a high-performance culture

  • Monitor KPIs, forecasting accuracy and commercial performance metrics

  • Conduct market analysis and competitor reviews to identify growth opportunities

  • Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, NPD and wider leadership teams

  • Support pricing strategy, negotiations and customer development plans

  • Prepare and present commercial reporting and forecasts to senior leadership

  • Ensure effective execution of sales strategy across all areas of the business

About You

The ideal candidate will be a commercially strong sales leader with experience operating within FMCG or food manufacturing environments.

You will be comfortable leading teams, building customer relationships and driving growth within a fast-moving operational business.

The business is looking for someone hands-on, commercially astute and capable of bringing both structure and momentum to the commercial function.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience within a senior FMCG sales leadership role

  • Strong Retail and/or Foodservice account management experience

  • Experience managing and developing sales teams

  • Strong commercial negotiation and relationship management skills

  • Track record of delivering revenue and margin growth

  • Experience operating within fast-paced manufacturing or FMCG environments

  • Strong forecasting, reporting and commercial analysis capability

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Experience within food manufacturing or branded/private label FMCG

  • Experience supporting business transformation or growth phases

  • Experience working cross-functionally with Operations and Supply Chain teams
